!!!Bert and Fairuza hit new heights at the 2022 World Championships!!!
Bert and Fairuza were selected to represent Canada at the 2022 World Championships in Denmark. Their scores gained during a successful European Spring tour leading to many months in the
FEI World Rankings Top 5!
They took the World Champs by storm to really show what they are made of with a 5th place individually and 6th place in the Individual Freestyle Final!
Along with their results from the Tokyo Paralympic Games, they are really riding a wave of success as they push on towards the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
Bert is a Canadian Para-Equestrian Paralympic Team member and dressage rider with Rheumatoid Arthritis, based in the UK. I am also a successful able bodied dressage rider and qualified riding coach.
You can join now Bert's fantastic Remote Coaching and Mentoring Programme where you can personally benefit from the experience Bert has gained over the years working with many different horses and world-renowned coaches. Click on the green to launch the new site!
Only with the help of Bert's sponsors, supporters and family is this possible. To find out how you could be involved in Bert's journey, please contact [email protected]
Bert is really proud to have represented Canada at 5 Major Games including the Tokyo Paralympics and Rio Paralympics (my Rio story is in a tab at the top) and to have battled it out for 4th individually at the World Equestrian Games 2014 in Normandy, and 5th and 6th at the recent 2022 World Championships. It is wonderful to be part of the Canadian government's AAP program as a fully carded athlete.
Bert is honoured to have won the Lincolnshire Sport Disabled Athlete of the Year award 2014. Bert also won the TSM Ltd Sponsored Rider of the Year Award for the British Equestrian Trade Association 2015. Big thank you to her wonderful sponsors who put her forward for the award.
Catch up with Bert on social media as https://www.facebook.com/BertSheffieldParaEquestrianRider and also on the Facebook groups I run Gelderlander Horses UK and Dressage Training in Lincolnshire.
